2014 Schools T & F Regional Championships

Ratoath A/C athletes were competing for their schools in the North, East & West Leinster  regional championships over the course of the last couple of days.

In the North Leinsters, Peter Kilgannon produced a very swift 23.6 sec to win the u 16 200m and was closely followed by his clubmate Brian Kiernan (3rd in 24.2 sec|). Peter and Brian went on to combine with Daryn Browne and Philip Marron to win the u 16 4 X 300m relay. Philip also posted a fast u 16 mile of 4 min 44 when finishing third in a very competitive final while Aine O Connor ran another PB ( 5 min 51 sec) when  taking the bronze medal in the girls u 16 mile. Ciaran McCarthy kept the medal haul moving along with a third in the intermediate 1500m (4 min 31 sec) while Conor Duncan (a new PB of 2 min 5 sec, 4th senior 800m), Eoin Clayton (Intermediate HJ -  1 .50m),, Aine Cooney, Katie Lewis and Joey Wallace all produced good performances but were just out of the medals. Deirdre Healy was second in the  senior girls 3K at the East Leinsters in a new senior club record of 10 min 34 sec while Alex Hunter won the West Leinster intermediate steeplechase and was second in the 3K in a time of 9 min 44 sec which breaks Philip Marrons u 16 club record.

Well done to all and best of luck in the Leinster championships.
