Clodagh excels in London
Clodagh Fitzpatrick was the club's sole representative in yesterdays London marathon where she posted an excellent 3 hours 35 mins for the distance. Her time was slightly down on her PB but Clodagh was delighted to have successfully completed her third major city marathon and is already planning ahead for the next one.

G. Finnegan- GO FASTER SUPER SOCKS
Forget about Nike, Addias, Brooks
etc.., a new brand of Athletic Socks are now on the market and are coming to a
store near you. The Gerry Finnegan GO FASTER SUPER SOCKS are said to improve
performance by up to 10% after undergoing extensive trials in recent months. A
number of well know local elite athletes have been seen wearing the socks on
training runs recently and there are rumours that the socks are going to make
their first competitive appearance at the London Marathon this weekend.
All may not be what it seems
though, WADA are set to investigate the Performance Enhancing Socks after a
number of complaints were received from anonymous sources. Gerry has denied the
use of any banned material in the manufacture of the socks and is said to be looking
forward to a bumper year on the road and track.

Duncan Double
Conor Duncan had another great win today at the outdoor varsity championships in Morton stadium. Conditions were extremely cold and blustery and despite the sunshine we even had some hailstone showers. Conor was not to be deterred and completed the varsity 800m double by adding the outdoor championships to the indoor title he won earlier in the year. After a slow and tactical first circuit covered in 63/64, Conor started to wind it up and headed for home covering the final lap in a swift 56 second to win in 2 min 0,9 sec, Great stuff Conor.
Deirdre Healy was 7th in the womens 3k in 10 min 55 sec, and while not perhaps at her very best, it was great to see Deirdre back in competition. It will not be long before she bounces back even better than ever.
The best has yet to come for these two dedicated athletes

Ratoath Ladies Shine in Dunboyne 4 mile
Ratoath ladies put in a string of fine performances in the Dunboyne 4 miles on 3 April last. Linda White and Mary Keily ran side by side throughout the race with Linda just getting the nod in 34 min 44 sec to Mary's 34.45. Lianne Bailey followed closely behind in 35.55 with Emma Boshell and Ann Marie next in 38.11 and 42,33 respectively. However, all of the aforementioned need to be on their toes as Claire Witter has been seen on the comeback trail around the roads of Ratoath pounding out the miles in the early hours of the morning.
