19 Star of the Sea Cross Country

Congratulation to all our athletes on great day out at the first cross country competition of the season in Stamullen. Ratoath AC taking the best juvenile club at the competition award. Fantastic results in a high quality competition with a large number of clubs traveling from all over Leinster to take part in what is widely known as one of the toughest cross country courses in the land. Our young athletes preformed really well with seven team gold winning teams, four team sliver and one team bronze as well great team results we had many fine individual finishes on the day. Well done to all our parents, athletes and coaches who travelled. Thank you to all from Star of the Sea athletic club for hosting another well organised event.

Ratoath/Rathbeggan Community Games T & F competition on Tuesday the 7th of May

Local Ratoath/Rathbeggan Community Games Track and Field competition takes place on Tuesday the 7th May at Ratoath Athletic Club's athletics track

€2 per child.

Gates open 5.30pm, first race 6.15pm, races for ages U4s to U16s.

All Children living in the Ratoath/Rathbeggan area and are under the age category as of 31/07/2019 are welcome to compete, they do not have to be a member of an athletic club.

The programme runs off quickly so be there in plenty of time , see timetable below.

Reminder Meath community Games cross country event next Sunday.

Reminder Meath community Games  cross country event next Sunday.

The Meath Community Games Cross Country will take place in Ballinacrea beside St. Bridgets’ GAA Club in Oldcastle this Sunday February 24th at 10am. Registration is on the day from 9am and the entry fee is €2 per athlete. Anyone who wishes to take part please be there by 9:30am latest

Competitors must be under-age on 31st July 2019, eg. under 8 Competition - Competitors must not have reached their 8th birthday on or before July 31st 2019. *note community games age groups are different to Athletic Ireland.

Note: Under 8, 9, 10 & 16 are County Competitions only and winners do not go forward to Athlone.
Events are for under 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 16.

Registration on the day from 9am, €2 Entry fee per athlete.

Events for Under 8, 9, 10 are 500m (County Competition only).
Event for under 12 is 500m and the first 6 (4 plus next 2 as subs) will qualify as a Relay Team for Athlone.
Event for Under 13 is an individual event, distance 1,200m and top 6 will go to Athlone.
Event for Under 14 is 700m and the like Under 12 the first 6 (4 plus next 2 as subs) will qualify as a Relay Team for Athlone.
Event for Under 16 is 700m. (County Competition Only)

Please note this competition is open to all athletes within the County of Meath, you do not have to pre qualify through your parish and you do not have to be a member on an athletics club.

All Members and parents of Juvenile members are welcome to attend.

On the night we will have coaches on hand to answer any questions you have about training, coaching, events etc. We welcome adults and children of all abilities and people interested in everything from Fit4Life to long distance running and from sprinting to field events.
