Raneny 5 Mile

Ciaran Crowther  was 3rd junior at the Raheny Shamrocks 5 mile road race today. Ciaran set a new PB of 29 mins 12 sec which was impressive running considering the blustery and wet conditions. This excellent performance sets him up nicely for a good run in the upcoming Leinster schools XC championships.

National u 23 Indoor Championships 31 Jan 2016

Conor Duncan won his first individual national medal at today's under 23 indoor championships. In a tactical 1500m, Conor finished 3rd in a new PB of 4 min 9 .0 sec

Four hours later, Conor was back on the track for the 800m final and again took bronze in another indoor PB of 1 min 57.75 secs.

Great running from an athlete that has put in the hard miles over the winter months

National Cross Country Relays

The National Cross Country 4 x 500m relays was held last Sunday at Dundalk IT, the weather on the day was good but the ground was in poor shape due to the recent bad weather. We had 7 athletes competing on Meath teams from the club, Kyle Witter, Eoin Kane, Fionn Drummond, Sophie Quinn, Aimee Doherty, Ella Healy and Tom Kilgannon.
The u12 boys were first up, Kyle, Fionn and Eoin all putting in good runs on the testing course finishing 7th overall. The u12 girls put in the performance of the day, Sophie and Aimee were very impressive on the 2nd and 3rd leg and with strong performances from the Dunboyne girls Kalya Ryan and Sophie Dolan the girls took gold by a margin of 20m over a very strong Kilkenny team.
The u14 boys finished 5th in their event, Tom Kilgannon who was part of the winning team last year put in another good run, but with 3 of the team out of age it was a big ask to medal on the day.
Ella Healy put in a great run on the first leg of the u14 girls relay, the girls were in 3rd place up until the last 200m but just couldn’t hang on finishing 4th.
