Tough at the Top

The under 15 + middle distance group are well advanced in their preparations for the upcoming cross country season  with training at Ratoath track 7.30pm on Tues and Thursday's and at the Hill of Tara 11am on Saturday and Sunday's. The hilly terrain around Tara is very tough & demanding but after 6-8 weeks on the hills our junior men and ladies squads are hoping for a big payback  with some excellent performances over the cross country season. Alex Hunter has  allegedly been quoted as saying these hills are not tough at all - more like ant hills compared to what he is used to running up in mountain races.

There is still a number of weeks to go before the start of the season so it is an ideal time for any perspective new members to come along and give it a go. All standards are welcome.

Alex Third in Celtic International

Alex Hunter finished third in the Celtic international in Wales (Swansea) last Saturday. Competing in the 2k steeplechase, Alex led early on but was caught with 2 laps to go and just lost out on second  over the last 200m. His finishing time of 6 min 24.1 was a new PB by over 12 seconds and he will now concentrate on some mountain running in August and September.
