Philip Marron 9th in Cork City Sports
Philip Marron ran a fantastic new pb of 4 min 5.27 when finishing 9th in in the junior 1500m at tonight's Cork City Sports. His run is all the more impressive when you take into account he had been injured for almost 6 months and is only now getting back into full training.
Conor Duncan sets new 800m PB in senior Nationals
Conor Duncan continues to lower his 800m PB in practically every 800m he competes in. The trend continued when he competed in the national senior championships over 25/26 June. Despite missing over 6 weeks training with an injury, he qualified for the 800m with another superb PB of 1 min 54.5 in the heats. Unfortunately, he aggravated the injury and had to pull out of the final but if he can solve his injury issues, he will surely run even faster before the track season is finished. Ronnie Quigley is having sleepless nights that his club 800m record might not last too much longer.
Alex Leads Irish Home
Alex Hunter competed in the international youth mountain running championships in the Czech Republic last weekend. The course was uphill only over 4.8k and temperatures soared to over 30C during the race to make it even more challenging for all the athletes. Alex has been in great form recently so it was no surprise when he led home the Irish team in 21st position in a highly competitive race that saw 8 athletes from Turkey in the top 10. He now plans to turn his attention to the 3k steeplechase for the rest of the track season and has his eye on breaking his own club junior / senior record. Alex is pictured with his proud parents Ann and Derek.

Relay success at National League
Representing Meath at the national league in Athlone last Sunday, our u 19 club 4 x 400m relay squad of Peter Kilgannon, Philip Marron, Naoise McKenna and Brian Kiernan won the division 1 section of the national league. Conditions were wet and blustery but the lads ran an unofficial time of 3 mins 36.1 which just missed the club senior record. Peter put us straight into the lead from the offset and the rest of the squad extended the lead out to about 20m by the finish for an impressive win.

Leinster Senior & Masters Championships
John Wallace won a total of 4 medals at the Leinster Masters 050 track and field championships - gold in the triple jump and bronze in the long jump, discus and 100m. To round off a great day, he was also fourth in the 200m. Philip Marron was 3rd in the senior 1500m in 4 min 16.3, his first senior championship medal, while Peter Kilgannon moved down from his more favoured 400m to contest the senior 200m where he finished 6th in 23.6 sec
