Day 3 of the Meath inter club
league took place last Wednesday evening at Claremont Stadium, Navan. We had
another good turnout from our juvenile junior and Master athletes and this made
for some great performances at all levels. Some of the stand our performances
on the night came from our u10 girls who placed 1st-5th
place in the ball throw, Sophie Quinn and Laura Kelly had a great run also
finishing 1st and 2nd in the girls U10 300m. Lili O’
Connor and Aoife Rutherford had a great battle in the girls’ u12 600m finishing
1st & 2nd, Aine Cooney and Ivie Okome could not be separated
in the girls U14 200m finishing joint 1st. Fionn Drummond won the
u11 ball throw while Aimee Doherty won the girls u11 60m with Eno Okome not far
behind in 4th. Tom Kilgannon finished 2nd in the boy’s u13 600m, Sophie O’
Connor won the girls u13 long jump and Matthew Buckley was an impressive winner
of the boy’s u13 600m. Brian Kiernan did the double in the boy’s u16 200m and
shot putt, Daragh Casey had another good run in the boys u14 200m finishing 2nd.
We had 5 u16 girls competing in the girl’s u16 200m and shot putt where they
finished 2nd-6th in both events. Philip Marron ran a
terrific 1500m in the junior men’s event to place 1st with Ciaran
McCarty in 3rd, Hugh Kelly won the Masters 1500m with a strong run
and Siobheal Cummins finished 2nd in the master ladies shot putt.

June 18th in Navan.
