The All Ireland Juvenile indoors championships were held last Saturday and Sunday in Athlone.
Ivie Okome and Kritsada Cooke represented the
club in the U13 60m and U13 60m hurdles respectively. Ivie competed on Saturday
and qualified from her heat for the final, in the final she had a slight
stumble at the start but recovered well and finished in 7th place in
a time of 8.56s, this was outside her pb that she set in the Leinster
Championships of 8.41s.
Kritsada Cooke competed on Sunday in the 60m hurdles, he
finished 5th in a very strong heat and just missed out on the
finals, Kritsada ran a time of 10.93s, again this was outside his pb of 10.64s
that he ran in the Leinsters.
Well done to both Athlete who were competing at their first
National Indoors, and we look forward to seeing them compete in the up and
coming outdoor season.
