on the final day of the National Juvenile Indoor Relay Championships for Ratoath AC relay teams
With a team in all bar one of the 16 relays races on the day, it was set to be exciting viewing for all. A club record of 15 Ratoath teams qualified for the national championships in TUS Athlone, and the records didn’t stop there
with the standout performance of the day from
our U17 girls claiming the national title with an exceptional race that saw them break the championship record in a time of 1:42.12. This time is also the fastest time for an Irish juvenile girls relay 4 X 200m club team in national juvenile indoor relay history.
Incredible performances all round with 14 of our 15 relays teams making finals and we came away with a total of 8 national medals. Our two individual field event athletes also performing well on the national stage with Lucy Mooney finishing in fifth position in the U15 girls long jump with an indoor PB jump measuring 4.78 meters and Cara O’Sullivan finished 7th in the U17 girls shot putt.
A fantastic finish to the 2022 indoor season. Thanks to all our amazing athletes and coaches, our super supporters in the stands and on the Live-Link. Also, thanks to Athletics Ireland for another great event.
